A Lovely Place to Visit

Welcome back!

I hope your holidays were as nice as mine. It is such a busy time of year for me, but worth every minute. This last week I was visiting some shops that I love to browse through. There is a lovely consignment store that is located in Hesperia, CA. It is called The Carriage House. From the time you arrive you are overwhelmed by all the wonderful finds they have. Beautiful furniture, antiques, reasonable prices and abundant eye candy. We, my sister and I have always been greeted and offered a cup of coffee or we could sit in a quaint little spot in the back that offers teas and biscotti, and your choice of the most beautiful tea settings. After our shopping my sister and I sat and visited over tea and just enjoyed our time together. I found this gorgeous buffet at an outstanding price while I was there. I really wanted it but after long deliberating I decided not to purchase it. It is a lovely piece.

If you happen to be in the town of Hesperia and want a new place to find treasures then you will not be disappointed here.

Little tiered dishes

It has been awhile since I have written. I have been very busy. We did a show last weekend and had a lot of great people come through. Really nice compliments from everyone too. I wanted to share some of our newest items we are making and I have to say I love making them too.My daughter-in-law and I are sharing my business now and we are pushing forward to the holidays coming and the biggest event, my very favorite time of year, Christmas. I started making 2 and 3 tier serving dished and am in love with them. Dishes! I am now looking in every place I go for a great dish to add to my collection for the perfect match or compliment to the 2 or 3 tiered designs. Here are a few we have made and are getting ready to sell at our next show.

This one is my own. It made it's way into my heart and it stays on my vanity.

I have also fallen in love with the wine stopper hangers. I have my favorite one of these too, and it hangs on my car mirror.

Playing Catch Up

So I have been busy...how about you? There is a lot to tell you all, but where to begin. Last time I was on I shared the little dresser I found at the Good Will. Well I went to my thrift store and found the most amazing piece that an artist can probably find. This beautiful bronze statue of a most lovely, couldn't get any sweeter little girl holding her dress and reading a book bust. She was only $19.95. GET OUT! I was thrilled to say the least. She now sits in my front window and I have my coffee with her every morning. Blessed.

Since joining Pinerest I have found so many wonderful things I love. One of them is dishes with line drawings and they are just so cute, inventive and inspiring I have to try making my own. I ordered my pens and I found some really nice cups and saucers at an antique store in Los Alamos and a set of 4 cups at the thrift store that are vintage. I am really taking my time as to what to draw on them, and as yet haven't decided on what I want to do, but they are the target of my endeavours here soon. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them.

Dresser Design with links

Today I have been working on my knobs and so I decided to make a tutorial, sort of

on the process of getting them on an unfinished dresser. So here goes...

The first step I did was find this little dresser. It was at the Goodwill and I bought it for $6.97.

What a deal! Nothing is wrong with it at all! WoooHooo!

I cleaned it up which didn't take long because it was pretty clean to start with

and took off the original knobs.

Then I designed what I wanted to have on it for the background. I decided to leave it the original finish so I can change it later to display more knobs when they are finished. If you want to make the letters on your dresser, using stencils will do nicely.They have really a nice selection at the craft stores.

Hi All, Here I am once again to share with you my goings on. I hope you are doing well. I have been very busy. We are now up and running on our newest site on Etsy M&M Vintage Sweets. It is going good. It is alot of work and 3 shops is a big undertaking for me. I love it though and wouldn't have it any other way. I am working on new things all the time. My daughter-in-law is doing the same with her items.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello Everyone,

I hope things are going well for you all. I had a wonderful Easter and with Mother's Day this weekend I will be having more I am sure. My grand sons went on the church Easter Egg hunt and they had a blast. I love watching them. There eyes are so full of life and wonderment. Such a joy!

I decided to go in together with my daughter-in-law on a 3rd Etsy shop and have been very busy with it. We are here:

I like that name and I like the logo we have as well. I am very excited about it. Ladybugs and a Little Stinker

I thought I would share some really cute pics. This is my dog Misty. She is a sweet little friend.

I asked my son to plant veggies this year and he has marvelously done so. Yesterday he released lady bugs in the yard to eat the bugs. My daughter-in-law and I had a photo frenzy when he did. What fun. This morning we had even more...

My grandsons thought it was bug collecting time. We had a few in the house when it was all over.

I did some nice editing for these.

There are a few that I will be playing with.

Well it is time to write again. I have been working on a couple of custom orders and it is keeping me busy. I am happy with that though, because it means I am making money! Yes that is what I am trying to do. I took some photos of the knobs I have been doing.

This is one of my customers order. Birds on a wire.

Some of the new designs... Listings will be up soon.

I have 5 new designs I am going to introduce as soon as they get their (the knobs) photos done. They are in the drying process right now. I have another order I will be starting tomorrow and I will be finishing these up too. I am still working on Ellie and Ethan. Every time I get a piece re-done to check it I create another one to accessorize them some more. Eeeeaks. It can drive ya a bit nuts! I also made new babies that have me going. They are so cute. They will be another pattern, but I think I may sell them too. I like to make them. They are getting easy to do since I am on my 4th one now. I love to make the things for them to wear. Belinda has the sweetest hat. I think I want one for me. I really love a cute hat.

All three of these little darlings are from one pattern. Belinda is a little bit different because I used a larger yarn type. I think she would look better if I had done her in the same as the following two.

Bitty Bunny

Bitty Bunny turned out so sweet. If they make me smile and love them I did something good. These do. Bitty Bunny has a tear. I am not sure why but it fits her. Maybe she doesn't have any bunny eggs...or one was broken....or the flower stems are poking her...mmmm oh well I will figure that out later...on to Chatter.

Chatter

Chatter is the male of the pair of birds. I just figured that out tonight while naming them. I had a friend a long time ago and he named his birds Chitter and Chatter and I thought that was the most original names for them. Never forgot that so I need to make Chitter now. It will be fun and she will be just as cute. Chatter is holding a set of keys in one hand and a small bird cage in the other. Maybe Chitter will have a few hearts to fill his cage. Something lovie for sure.

Hello Again,
Hope today started your week on a good note. I have begun where I left off last week. I have loaded most of what I wanted to get done but I still have more to go. I need to finish Ellie and Ethan the amigurumi elephants yet. They are coming along though.
It is Euro week and Top 10 added the theme to their site, which I added some of my things too. Euro week is one of the categories so I put them there since that is pretty much the flavor of my shops. Happy Monday. I am just about ready to list two more patterns for Amigurumi on Madson Ave. Hopefully by Wednesday I will have them up. I have photos and patterns to complete yet so I am really hoping I can get them out by Wednesday. I also have some things for sale which I have posted here too.

These are Door Drops. They hang off your Door Pulls for a little style and class or make something chic happen in a favorite room. Really cute.

Happy Friday All. I have to say this day has been quite a sad day. My heart goes out to Japan's lovely people. Very concerning for us here in Ca. It breaks my heart to see others in such peril. They are in my prayers..

Today I did get some work accomplished so I am happy about that. I will be putting new things up in my Madson Ave Etsy soon. Cute stuff.

Well today wasn't so productive. It was one of those days...try as I may to get something wonderful made. I finished one small piece that I want to be better so on we go to do just that. I was a very beautiful day though. I love it when the sun shines. Yesterday I Discontinued some of my knobs, they are at a discounted price to sell them and clear them out. I finished pricing them today. Take a look...

Another day of sunshine on the central coast. It is Friday! Yeah! I am working on four patterns for amigarumies and hope to have them listed soon on Etsy. I am sort of new to crocheting compared to some but I have been working on the craft for about 4 years now and I really enjoy making things. I have some of my art listed on Fine Art America and they have a new gadget that I am listing here of the art that is available there. Some is digital and some are of my acrylics on canvas. Today is already March 2nd. My youngest grandson is 2 today. He is so precious. I haven't been on here as much as I should be so I have made a goal for myself to really start Blogging.
I have opened another Etsy site for my crochet and amigurmui pieces. Here is the link. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MadsonAve I have been doing a lot of pieces lately. I write the pattens down as I go and now I am just trying to get them made again from the patterns to make sure there isn't any errors. The doll that is featured here today is something I started and then put down. Her hair is just fab. but it takes a long time to get it all done. Dedication to get it done too. If anyone wants to share their crocheting that they have done please send me a pic and I will share it here.

I have been busy with my other Etsy site too, it is doing really well. I have new knobs to add soon and have added new ones since I was on here last.

Wow! Time flies by. I have been working on new things and throwing out some old. I dropped myself from a couple of sites to make room and have more time for the ones working for me.
I have designed the door pulls to be functional in other ways for Christmas and have made them available on Etsy. Click the preview to the right and it will take you right to it. I am still wanting everything I make to be available on my web page, www.kimberlymadson.com, but it is still on my list. Maybe I should give that list to Santa. Ha! Ha!

Another item I wanted to try and it has turned into a project is the Scrabble pendants. I have made about 50 so far with my designs and I really like them. I am going to either be making another Etsy site just for them or be making them available on my web site only. Still trying to decide.

I included the dresses (6 of them) in the designs. They are really awesome!

I am sorry I haven't been here lately. I just got back from being with my dad. He was very sick and we thought we would loose him, but he is doing very well now. I thank God for His healing and love. My dad will be coming home soon.

A new look for my web site...

Today was the last of getting my web site re-vamped. I have it up and running. I like it so far. I will be working on it daily and adding to it often. I am going to be loading the new Door Pulls to Etsy and the web site soon. Etsy probably first, since I have to design a new page for them on my site. I still want to have an order page for the Clipurses and other items for sale on my site as well. You can order everything through Paypal.

I also have some new designs that I am introducing here first. I have made 7 different designs from one painting of "Little Black Dress". I think they are really cute. I just thought you would enjoy seeing them. It will be a little while till I can get them into prints.

I have some new things to share with you. First I would like to say welcome to my new followers, all 3 of you. LOL.
I have been hard at work making new things happen. I have 3 new 8x10 print cards coming soon that I will be offering. They are on order now.

The "Musical Instruments" door pulls has been a great success. The door pulls line as a whole are really nice when finished. I have upgraded the size of the pulls to 1.75 and 2 in. There is more room for the designs and will be available in more sizes to you.

New Art

Wow! Time just keeps going by. I have been working on my new studio with my husband and son. It is finally up and ready to paint the inside. I am so excited! I have the rugs to put in and then I can begin to organize all my work areas.
I haven't been able to do too much by way of new art, but have so many plans and things I want to create.
I have paintings in my head that are screaming to get on canvas, drawings that want to be on paper...arggg! Hold on!
I have done some drawings and am pleased with the way they turned out. I have a new digital from the drawing "Pearl's Treasure".

I am going to have it ready soon for post cards and book markers too.
I have also added the new post cards to my collection and posted them on Etsy.

Recently I completed a custom order for these musical instruments. The customer really liked them and they turned out nice. A few years ago I drew in inks and would draw allot of this kind of art. I loved it and I still do it on occasion, so I decided to name this line of art Zebra Art. I have some very cute pieces I will share some time.

I love these little pieces of fun. I am getting a book together with all of the papers that it I use, which is all my art I have designed for them. Designs are made in a ongoing process, so there
